The 2011 Indy Toy Solder show was held on April 3rd at the newly remolded Sheraton Inn North. Room trading began on Friday, April 1, as collectors and dealers were anxious to get things going. Show promoter Barry Carter said that attendance at the show on Sunday was UP from the previous two years, which is great news! A few highlights of the show included the release of Cunnyngham Collectible's new Metal ACW figure, Rusty Kern's (Playset Magazine) first appearance at the Indy Show, and Barzso Playset's new Fort Apache. As usual, room trading was a bit on the slow side, but Saturday afternoon saw things pick up considerably. The slower pace of the days leading up to the show gives collectors and dealers time to catch up on news and enjoy the commraderie that is a large part of this hobby. Here are excerpts from a few of the emails that we've been receiving from show attendees:
"Thank you again for a wonderful time in indy... The show was great also. Till next time"
- - - Grumpy and Margaret
"Hey Barry, me and the wife had a great time this past weekend, I want to compliment the hotel staff, we had a few things not right, but they made it right really quick, that is all you can ask. Sold some stuff, but more importantly had a really good time."
- - - Steve
"Barry- THANKS SO MUCH FOR ANOTHER GREAT SHOW! LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT YEAR. TAKE CARE"
- - - Jane & Fred
"Mr. Carter, I wanted to thank you for your work you did on the Indianpolis Toy Show. We had a very successful year, sold out of several items, and had more people stop by our table than ever before. It's always a lot of fun, and can't wait to do it again next year. Thanks so much, and best wishes!"
